            The Elizabeth Circle of Spotswood Reformed Church is seeking crafters and vendors for its Craft Show set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 5 at the church, 429 Main St. Rental cost is $20 per table.             The Zimmerli Student Advisory Board will sponsor an Art After Hours Poetry Night 6-9 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Zimmerli Art Museum, corner of Hamilton and George streets, New Brunswick. A solo guitarist will begin the evening. After a short intermission tour of the Blocks of Color exhibition, the Poetry Night will begin at 7:30 p.m.

      Pavers to be installed at veterans memorial
            The township of East Brunswick is taking orders for new granite walkway pavers to be installed at the East Brunswick Veterans Monument in time for the annual Veterans Day observance Nov. 11. Individuals may purchase a 4-by-4-inch black granite paver that will line the Veterans Walk of Honor.

      Early-learning center slates free program
            Kiddie Academy of Spotswood, 410 Main St., will offer a free five-week preschool experience beginning Oct. 6. Sessions for children ages 12-20 months are set for 10:45-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays; ages 3-4 will meet 9:45-11 a.m.. also on Tuesdays; classes for ages 4-5 are planned for 10:15-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.

            The 12th annual Milltown Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 in Borough Park, JFK Boulevard and Violet Terrace, next to the community pool. Rain date is Oct. 4.             Seasonal flu shots will be administered 1-3 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Spotswood Office on Aging, Arlington Ave. It should be noted that the novel H1N1 vaccine will not be offered. The seasonal flu shots will be provided for a fee of $10 to Middlesex County residents age 18 or older. Cash only, exact change, will be accepted.

      Stem-cell donor sought; fundraiser set
            A dinner to benefit Mitchell Brown, a young East Brunswick father who is suffering from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, will be held 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Pines Manor, Edison. Cost is $50 per person. All proceeds will go to the Brown family to help defray medical and personal expenses.

      4-H open house Oct. 4 in East Brunswick
            The Middlesex County 4-H will host an open house 1-4 p.m. Oct. 4 at the 4-H Center, Cranbury and Fern Roads, East Brunswick. There are more than 25 different 4-H Clubs in all within Middlesex County. Attendees will be able to meet 4-H members and volunteer leaders, and there will also be petting zoos and demonstrations.

      Vehicle strikes house in Clearbrook
            MONROE — Police responded to an accident in which a vehicle struck a house at 8:57 a.m. Sept. 25 in the Clearbrook adult community. According to police, William Ruben, 88, of Monroe, was driving a 2000 Saturn SL2 on Basswood Plaza. As he turned onto Belmar Road, he struck a 2009 Toyota Camry being driven by Seymour Housner, 85, also of Monroe.
