This is a rebuttal to Kathy Scarbrough's letter the editor praising the East Brunswick Township Council's reduction of trash pickup ("Mayor, Council Worked To Find Compromise," Sentinel, Sept. 24). It's true that they saved each homeowner about $30 a year in taxes. So what's next? Have no pickups and save another $30 a year? More ... The East Brunswick Squad has sent out its donation pleas. As someone who has needed the services of these remarkable people, I know full well the inestimable value of their selfless work. More ... After reading Linda Pagan's plea ("Woman Seeks Help in Giving Troops a Belated Welcome," Sentinel, Sept. 24), I couldn't help but think back to my husband's return from the first Gulf War. We were stationed in my native Germany during the time of his deployment, and the support for the families on post had been great. More ... |
