      Urges senator to plug 'doughnut hole'
            Iwas very disappointed to hear about Sen. Robert Menendez's (D-N.J.) vote against an amendment to federal health-reform legislation supported by AARP. The amendment would have righted a big wrong in the prescription-drug coverage gap for people on Medicare.

            This letter is in response to the Chris Christie supporters who have been campaigning in Spotswood and Milltown. I believe in freedom of speech, but depicting Barack Obama, president of the United States, with a Hitler moustache in front of local post offices is an absolute disgrace.

            Monroe Township Councilman Hank Miller and Councilman Jerry Tamburro are part of a great team who have been bringing us excellent government. Under their watch, Monroe residents have been the recipients of one of the lowest property tax rates in the county, and there was no tax increase in 2009.

      Kudos to assemblyman for helping veterans
            Iam a Korean War-era veteran. When veterans of World War II returned home from the war, our government provided a number of programs that helped them to assimilate back into everyday life. Today, veterans returning from war also are offered a host of programs including financial assistance to help them obtain a college degree.
