      $7.58 million budget brings tax hike due to revenue losses

      The average homeowner in Milltown will pay an additional $82 in municipal taxes for 2009 based on a municipal budget adopted Friday. The tax increase, reduced from an earlier version of the budget, is the result of increased costs in some areas and decreased overall revenues, a predicament many towns have found themselves in due to the state of the economy.       Middlesex County's 4-H Center has been transformed into a thrilling haunted house in an attempt to raise money for needy families across the county. Money raised from the haunted house and other 4-H fundraisers throughout the year go to benefit Project Gift, an initiative that provides a free day of holiday shopping to families with limited resources.
