Mr. Shanko, 91, of East Brunswick, died Nov. 3, 2009, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Victoria Tupkielewicz Shanko; a son, Stephen, and his wife, Jill, of East Brunswick; two daughters, Maryanne Stahley, and her husband, Jim, of Monroe and Valerie Oremus, and her husband, Rick, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, Ronald Shanko, and his wife, Marge, of the Cedar Knolls section of Hanover; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
