Youngsters invited to junior police program The Spotswood Police Department will hold its fifth annual Junior Police Academy 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., July 19-23. Boys and girls entering grades 6, 7 and 8 in the fall are invited to participate. The weeklong academy will feature fitness, military marching, classroom activities, handson experience, police demonstrations, guest speakers and more. The program, which is designed to teach students effective tools of communication and the value of teamwork, will offer a true-to-life experience of police work. A parent/student entry meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 10 in the courtroom at the Spotswood Municipal Building. Applications, which are available at police headquarters, 77 Summerhill Road, will be handed out at the meeting. For more information, call Sgt.
