Budget cuts lead to new hours at library

The East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center, will cut hours of operation on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays beginning March 13. New hours will close the library at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays instead of the current 9 p.m. closing. In addition, the library will be closed completely on Good Friday, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veterans Day and the day after Thanksgiving.

The measures are necessitated by a reduction of municipal appropriations in the library’s 2010 proposed budget.
