Mr. Hermann, 86, of Milltown, died March 10, 2010, at home. He was a Milltown crossing guard 1985-2008 and a Milltown police officer 1947-51. A longtime member of the Milltown Planning Board, he also served as a member of the Milltown Borough Council 1959-1961. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Poandl Hermann; a brother, Donald Hermann; and a sister, Thelma Poandl. Surviving are three daughters, Eileen O’Brien, and her husband, Bill, of Mount Holly, Deborah Clark, and her husband, Wayne, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Carla Hickey of South River; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milltown Fire Department, the Milltown Policemen’s Benevolent Association or the Milltown Rescue Squad.
