Applications available for EBHS preschool

East Brunswick High School (EBHS) is accepting applications for its 2010-11 Preschool Education Program to be held at the high school, Cranbury Road. Applications and more information are available by logging on to www.ebnet.org.

The preschool is open to East Brunswick residents who will be 3 years old by Oct. 31, 2010, but who are no older than 4 years, 8 months. Participants must be toilet trained and have up-to-date immunizations. Parents must be able to transport their children to and from school. Morning and afternoon sessions are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Applications must be returned by mid-May. Application does not guarantee entry into the program. Parents will be notified of acceptance in mid-June.

The Preschool Education Program is a teaching laboratory course for EBHS juniors and seniors, in which students learn, plan, teach and observe in a preschool lab. During the first quarter, (approximately six weeks) of the school year, the high school students study child development, guidance techniques and teaching methods needed to work with preschool children. The preschool laboratory opens to youngsters in mid-October. The high school students apply the skills and concepts they have learned to conduct and supervise the preschool program.
