Hungarian singer to appear at event

An Organ Restoration Fundraiser Dinner and Entertainment, featuring vocalist Tunde Csonka, is set for 5 p.m. April 10 at Magyar Reformed Church Center, corner of Fayette Street and Kirkland Place, Perth Amboy.

The event will include a program of Hungarian operetta and nostalgia songs and tunes from Broadway musicals.

Csonka, who was a member of the Hungarian National Theater of Gyor, was the recipient of the eMeRTon Prize as Musical Singer of the Year in 2004 for her role in “Miss Saigon.” She has played numerous roles in Hungarian theaters and appeared in concerts in the United States. She runs the NemART Musical and Drama School in Budapest, where children learn about singing, dancing and acting. The camp also offers a weeklong summer session for Hungarian children from the United States.

Donation for the fundraiser is $30. Reservations are required.
