A 5K race and a 1-Mile Fun Run will be held in Spotswood May 8. The onemile event is set for 8:30 a.m. The 5K will start at 9 a.m. Advance registration (prior to April 18) is $15 for youngsters ages 12 and under and $20 for individuals ages 13 and up. The United Way of Central Jersey will hold its annual golf outing May 10 at TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton. The event will include prizes, greens fee, cart fee, putting green, driving range, golf course refreshments, breakfast, luncheon and awards. Funds from the event will benefit the Christian C. The U13 girls Old Bridge Thunder soccer team seeks dedicated players for the spring and fall. The Thunder are professionally coached and trained by a UEFA B licensed full-time coach and play in the MAPS division of JAGS. Thunder players come from Middletown, Holmdel, Matawan, Morganville Manalapan and Staten Island. Fees, not including overnight travel, registration and uniform, are about $500 per year including fundraising. Industrial/Commercial Real Estate Women Inc. (ICREW NJ) will host its ninth annual golf classic and reception May 6 at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe. The event will feature a scramble format, where golfers play nine or 18 holes, or participate in a three-part clinic for beginners. The event will also include a buffet lunch, dinner reception and awards ceremony, as well as a silent auction and draw prizes. This year’s proceeds will benefit NJ Sharing Network, a nonprofit organization responsible for the recovery of donated organs and tissue for the 4,500 New Jersey residents currently awaiting a life-saving transplant.
