The Hernandez Theatre Workshop (HTW), in collaboration with the city of South Amboy Recreation Department, will hold auditions for the upcoming production of “Once on This Island Jr.” 6:30-9:30 p.m. June 16 at the TASA (Teen Association of South Amboy) Building, 141 N. Broadway, South Amboy, across from City Hall. Parking will be available along Broadway and in the municipal parking lot in back of City Hall.

Students ages 6-18 are sought. Performers should come prepared to sing 16 bars of a upbeat musical-theater or ballad-style tune showing vocal range.

“Once on This Island Jr.” is a Caribbean adaptation of the fairy tale “The Little Mermaid,” with a presentation style reminiscent of story theatre and a Caribbean- and popflavored score. Performances are set for Aug. 6, 7 and 8.
