Forget stickers; don’t use cells while driving
I can’t believe that Kyleigh’s Law can actually be seen as lifesaving.
If a sticker will help protect my daughter while driving, she would be covered in them. If you want your children, as well as all drivers, to be safe, don’t use cell phones at all while driving. Teens are taught the rules for drivers their age in drivers education. If they are seen driving erratically, I hope they are pulled over.
But let’s not discriminate. I see so many people driving and texting or talking on cells, even mothers with young children in their cars (which I think is the most dangerous of all). Maybe there should be stickers for the elderly who can no longer see well, for alcoholics, for cars with more than one child — the types of people who are on the roads and should use extra caution are too numerous to list.
Bottom line … I do not want my daughter on the road with a sticker for so many reasons, none of which will protect her.
I believe this is just another way for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to collect more money.
