Mrs. Scherer, 83, of Sayreville, died July 14, 2010, at home. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a clerk with E.I. DuPont, Parlin section of Sayreville. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon W. Scherer; two sons, Michael and Timothy Scherer; a brother, William Unkel, and his wife, Myrtle; and a sister, Evelyn Mortenson, and her husband, Ray. Surviving are three sons, Craig G. Scherer, and his wife, Susan, of Glen Gardner, Mark K. Scherer, and his wife, Catherine, of the Forked River section of Lacey and Shawn S. Scherer, and his wife, Donna, of Jackson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Arrangements were under the direction of Sayreville Memorial Funeral Home.
