• Health- and Beauty-Aid Drive, sponsored by the township of Old Bridge Food Bank, in partnership with the Old Bridge YMCA, during regular business hours, at the YMCA building, 1 Mannino Park. Collection bins set up inside the facility. Toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, feminine products, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, are sought. Donations benefit more than 1,000 Old Bridge adults and children in need.

• Bowling Event, sponsored by the Old Bridge High School Marching Band, 8-10 p.m., at Strathmore Lanes, Route 34, Aberdeen. Cost is $12 per bowler for two games and shoe rental. • Cruisin’ for the Kids Cruise Nights/Car Shows, sponsored by the Just Us Cruisers classic-car club, 6-9 p.m., at the Peterpank Diner, Route 9 north, South Amboy/Sayreville. • Drive-Thru Food Drive, sponsored by the Old Bridge Food Bank, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 1 Old Bridge Plaza, in the municipal complex, Route 516 and Cottrell Road. Individuals may drive up with donations; foodbank volunteers unload items from the car. Most needed items: tuna fish; mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard; cold breakfast cereal for children and adults; regular and decaffeinated coffee, tea; instant mashed potatoes; grape, strawberry jelly; pancake mix, syrup; cake mixes, frosting; canned fruits, vegetables. Food bank also accepting perishable items such as hot dogs, kielbasi, ground beef, hamburger patties, milk, eggs, butter, cheese, etc. 732-721-5600, ext. 6625 or 2022.
• Car Wash, sponsored by the Monroe Township High School cheerleaders, beginning at 9 a.m., at the high school, Perrineville Road. Proceeds used for the team’s local competitions and to offset fees for supplies during the season.
• Organic (Chemical-Free) Lawn and Home-Cleaning Products and Natural Pest-Control Products Sale, sponsored by the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership (LBWP), 10 a.m.-noon, at the group’s headquarters building, 85 Washington Ave., Milltown. The nonprofit LBWP, dedicated to the protection of the Lawrence Brook Watershed, seeks to encourage area residents to avoid the use of chemical lawn, garden and home-cleaning products in favor of natural products, which are healthier for the waterways and the environment. Proceeds sponsor nature walks, bike rides, environmental educational programs, administrative costs of engaging the public in watershed protection.
