Feb. 9-25 • Bag of Books Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Jamesburg Public Library, at the library, 229 Gatzmer Ave. For a cost of $3, shoppers may fill a grocery-size plastic bag with as many books and movies as it will hold. Adult fiction and nonfiction, children’s books, VHS movies, some vinyl records available.

Feb. 10

• Tricky Tray, sponsored by the Sayreville War Memorial High School Choir, doors open at 6 p.m., event begins at 7:30 p.m., in the cafeteria at the high school, Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville. Snow date is Feb. 17. Hundreds of baskets and prizes, including a television, weekend getaway, gift certificates, electronics, patio furniture, more. Snacks, beverages available for purchase. Coffee, dessert served; outside food permitted. Admission is $7 and includes one sheet of prize tickets; additional tickets sold separately. Individuals must be 18 years of age to purchase tickets. • Comedy Night, sponsored by the East Brunswick Baseball League (EBBL) 12U Cooperstown Travel Team, doors open at 7 p.m., show begins at 8 p.m., at the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, 15 Oak St., Old Bridge. Headliner: comedian Paul Venier. Beer, wine, soda, light snacks. Theme-basket raffles. Cost is $40. Proceeds help defray the team’s travel expenses to the Cooperstown Dream Park Summer Tournament

Show will feature Fever as its house band; Vic DiBitetto will perform his standup comic routine; Cultural Arts Committee will present short comedic classic TV skits; “Name That Tune” will be played with the audience. Feb. 11 & 12 • Girl Scout Cookie Sales, sponsored by Milltown Girl Scout Cadette Troop No. 80037. Feb. 11, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Drive-Thru Cookie Sale, in the parking lot at United Methodist Church, 47N. Main St., Milltown; Feb. 12, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., at Walgreens, 421 Ryders Lane, Milltown. Cookies cost $4 per box. Patrons also may purchase cookies for distribution to U.S. military personnel; boxes will be shipped directly from the baking facility to military bases. All proceeds support Girl Scouts, with a portion directly benefiting Troop No. 80037. Funds used for Scout programs, financial assistance, council resources, community projects, travel. Feb. 12 • Rock the Knight Prom Fashion Show, sponsored by the Old Bridge High School PTSA, 1 p.m., in the auditorium at the high school, 4209 Route 516. Principal David Cittadino and 100 students, administrators, teachers and other staff members will model formal attire including tuxedos, floor-length gowns, cocktail dresses. Clothing, shoes and accessories from local vendors will be showcased. Vendors will show their wares and answer questions regarding formal-clothing styles. Feb. 16 & 17 • Benefit Day, sponsored by Our Lady of Lourdes School, Milltown, 11 a.m. Feb. 16 to 2 a.m. Feb. 17, at T.G.I. Friday’s, Route 1 south, North Brunswick.
