Attendees of the annual New Jersey State League of Municipalities Conference do not face additional costs for programs they attend during the event. The South River Borough Council was advised last year that the Elks organization was pursuing legal action to remove a deed restriction that prohibits a firehouse from being built on the Elks site on Main Street, should the borough purchase the property. When Councilman Thomas C. Roselli discussed the matter last week, he did not report that the Elks were pursuing legal action against the borough, as was stated in a Feb. 2 story.
