Mr. Ryan, 85, of the Morgan section of Sayreville, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Jan. 26, 2012, in Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. He was the proprietor of Ed’s Sunoco Service Center, Morgan, for 42 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan C. Smith Ryan, and by a sister, Rhoda Hoffman. Surviving are two daughters, Janet of Branchburg and Linda of Washington, D.C.; a niece, Beverly Ignatovicz, and her husband, Nick, of Freehold; and two nephews, Howard Hoffman, and his wife, Diane, of Florida and the Hon. Ronald Hoffman, and his wife, Paula, of Island Heights. Services were held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville.
